Meet Cole My name is Cole Rogers and I am asking for your vote for Metro Council-District 7. For over ten years my family and I have made Nashville home and have grown alongside this city. I believe now is my opportunity to give back to the community which has given me so much. Growing up, I had the benefit of being raised in a union household where I learned the value of hard work. With these lessons in mind, I put myself through college where I graduated with my degree in Education. From there, I began my career working as a substitute teacher in the Metro Nashville Public School Systems where I learned even more about the community I love and the people who make it up. In 2010, I began attending Nashville School of Law and have since built a practice that has been dedicated to serving individuals in serious and complex situations. Through my experience as a sole-practitioner I have had the opportunity to meet countless members of the community and gain an understanding of the issues many face. As a proud member of this neighborhood I have committed myself to giving back through acts of public service. I currently have the honor of serving as President of the East Nashville Hope Exchange, a non-profit dedicated to increasing literacy rates for local at-risk youth. I have also helped organize an event called “Wills for Heroes”, where attorneys come together to offer free wills to our local first responders. It is through these diverse experiences that I have developed the compassion necessary to understand our community’s issues and the effectiveness to know how to resolve and overcome these issues. I will be dedicated to making our Metro Council one that is devoted to its citizens, focused on ensuring opportunities for all and helping to break down any obstacles we may face together. These are my hopes for our community and it’s people and why I ask for your vote on August 1st.
